The historic MA Chidambaram Stadium, home to scores of Twenty20 fans thanks to the following that Chennai Super Kings have enjoyed the last eight years, may not host any of the India matches when the ICC World Twenty20 is hosted in the country between March 11 and April 3 next year. The famed Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the final match of the tournament.

There's no official reason been given yet over why Chennai could lose out on an India match but it is very likely that Chidambaram may be compensated with two World T20 matches not involving India. Apart from India matches, Chennai will also not host any of the matches involving Sri Lanka, given the political scenario in the state and the Tamil-Sinhala conflict.

BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur admitted that there were problems with the stadium in Chennai because of which the listing of World T20 venues had to be kept pending.

"We have not ruled out Chennai (as a venue). The only issue is which matches can be played in Chennai. There are certain limitations - can't play Sri Lanka there, three stands are not complete and you can't keep Indian fans away from those stands," said the BCCI secretary.

Thakur, however, did not go into the specifics of whether Chennai would get to host the Indian team. Delhi, a major venue that is currently in a messy state of affairs over tax-related issues with the state government, could also miss out on a World T20 game.

As of now, Mumbai, Kolkata, Nagpur, Chennai, Mohali, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Pune, Rajkot, Hyderabad and Dharamsala are the venues that have been marked down as the potential venues.

Asia Cup 2016
Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan confirmed on his return from the meeting on Wednesday night that the country will organise the competition for the third successive time.

The BCB chief said it was an unanimous decision.

All the countries agreed when Pakistan proposed Bangladesh as hosts for the competition, which is likely to be held in February-March next year.

India was ahead in the race for arranging the 13th edition of the competition. But Hassan had earlier hinted that the 2016 Asia Cup would be held in Bangladesh if India decided otherwise.

Bangladesh, who also hosted the 2012 and 2014 editions, will organise the tournament for a record fifth time ahead of Sri Lanka, who hosted it four times.

The competition was held twice in the United Arab Emirates while India and Pakistan hosted it once each.

In April, the ACC announced that the Asia Cup would be held in T20 and one-day formats alternatively in accordance with World Twenty20s and World Cups.

With India hosting the World T20 later in 2016, next year's tournament will be in the shorter format for the first time while the 2018 edition will be played in one-day format with the World Cup in 2019.

The competition will comprise five teams like the 2014 edition, with one playing qualifiers to earn the right to join the four Test-playing nations.

Hosts UAE, Afghanistan, Hong Kong and Oman will play the qualifiers next month.

Ever since the Asia Cup was introduced in 1984, the tournament has always been played in a fifty over format. However, the 2016 edition will be the first time when the giants of Asian cricket will battle it out in the shortest format of the game – T20.

The thirteenth edition of the Asia Cup is scheduled to be played in Bangladesh, which also marks the nation hosting the competition for the third straight time. Overall, Bangladesh have hosted the tournament in 1988, 2000, 2012 and 2014 in the past. India has been chosen as the next Asia Cup hosts for the 2018 edition.

The organisers did not have an alternative venue for the 2016 edition as India will be hosting the T20 World Cup next year and other countries were also overlooked for different reasons.

"Since India would host World T20 next year, the Asia Cup T20 will serve as an ideal preparatory tournament for Asian nations. With international cricket not possible in Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be in midst of monsoon, Bangladesh was the unanimous choice of the members," PTI quoted BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur as saying.

Thakur, who was present during the Asian Cricket Council meeting in Singapore, also confirmed India as the venue for the fourteenth edition of the tournament.

"The 2018 edition in India will be ODI format keeping 2019 World Cup in mind," Thakur stated.

Apart from the venues for the tournament being discussed, a number of important things came up in the meet such as strengthening Asian cricket. The members present in the meeting also agreed to help the associate nations in the sub continent for better exposure at the international level.

"The Asian Test nations like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh will send their A sides with three players mandatory from the senior side. The associate nations like Nepal, Afghanistan and Oman will play their first teams. This is an endeavour to make Asian bloc in cricket stronger. The more they will play against Test nations, they will become far more competitive," Thakur said.

Its recent results have been mixed at best but the Indian cricket team will be among the strongest contenders, says Lara.

Our base is really normal and officially we are not benefiting a vocation. I don't trust any one individual can make any enchantment at the top level and see distinctive exhibitions," he said.

"Despite everything I trust that West Indies players are probably the most capable players on the planet and particularly the young people coming in. What we have a tendency to do in West Indies is that we take great ability and make it into fair ability. You require a decent authoritative board to work in concordance with you," Lara included.

"I would love to have any kind of effect yet I feel it must be from ground up. Ideally some of the time sooner rather than later we will have the capacity." to a question on whether he resigned too soon in his vocation, Lara said, "I may have several records however I truly didn't go there to bat for records. Scoring 12,000 runs was not critical… I felt it was the opportune time to clear out. Regardless I trust that I delighted in playing with the groups I played with."

Lara said he appreciates being in India. "Notwithstanding amid my cricket days, India is a spot where I truly adored coming to. I cherish the Indian individuals for the enthusiasm they help through their life each and every day. Some of my extremely uncommon companions Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid, M S Dhoni and Virat Kohli… these are magnificent cases of Indians with extraordinary enthusia

The new test is the thing that additional would you be able to do. The 2016 World (Twenty20) Cup would be devoted to fans who ought to have an extraordinary affair. We are going to reserve particular territories for uncommonly abled individuals. There ought to be entryways in every range. There ought to be legitimate security. The toilets must be spotless and there must be drinking water. These are fundamental pleasantries which ought to be there

Presently, BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur has implied at the likelihood of Chennai getting the chance to be a host, and India playing Pakistan.

You can't play Sri Lanka over yonder, three stands are not finished, you can't keep the fans far from those recreations, such a variety of things must be considered before dispensing matches to these focuses." Asked an immediate inquiry concerning whether the Indian board would settle another venue as a stand-by, Thakur said, "That circumstance won't emerge".

The other issue of India-Pakistan arrangement was additionally examined on Thursday. Thakur offered an otherworldly "simply sit tight for couple of days" when gotten some information about the arrangement. On November 17, PCB director Shahryar Khan had said that Pakistan won't go to India. "On the off chance that the arrangement happens, it may be held in UAE," Khan had said. On the other hand, the most recent buzz proposes we may see a turn in the st
