The record of most runs in one World T20 belongs to Virat Kohli who made 319 runs from only 6 matches during the 2014 edition. Kohli made four fifties in that tournament and took India to the final. Kohli broke Tillakaratne Dilshan's record who made made 317 runs during 2009 edition and then again, Sri Lankans had made it to the final.
Ajantha Mendis holds the record of most wickets in one T20 World cup tournament, taking 15 scalps at an economy of just over run a ball with a five wicket haul during the 2012 edition. Mendis went past Dirk Nannes who had 14 wickets for Australia during the 2010 edtion. Umar Gul of Pakistan has twice taken 13 wickets in one championship.
Note that schedule of World T20 2016 is set in a way that 8 minor teams play a qualifier round before top two reaching the super 10 stage. This gives 3 matches extra to the players of whichever team that reaches the second round and hence little extra opportunity to score more runs or take wickets. But since that's the format ICC has chosen, our list will contain the overall figures.
