ICC World Twenty20
Former international cricketers Mike Hussey and Sriram Sridharan will join the Australian team as coaching consultants as the side prepares for the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 in India early next year. (Get Full Schedule of 2016 World Twenty20 Here)

Sridharan, a former Indian ODI player, will link up with the Australian team for the three T20 Internationals against South Africa prior to the team's arrival in India to assist with its preparation for the World Twenty20. (Australia's Mitchell Starc Set to Miss World Twenty20 After Ankle Surgery)

Hussey, who played 38 T20 Internationals for Australia and captains the Sydney Thunder in the KFC Big Bash League, will join the team for the first two weeks of the tournament in India to assist the players in transitioning to T20 cricket as well as adapting to the conditions in the sub-continent.

Hussey has deep knowledge of Indian conditions after playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) regularly since its inception in 2008. Having played for Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, Hussey's knowledge will benefit the Australia looking to win the Cup from defending champions Sri Lanka.

Cricket Australia Executive General Manager Team Performance Pat Howard said Hussey's experience will be invaluable as the team looks to win a trophy that has so far eluded Australian cricket since the tournament began in 2007.

"Mike has been one of our most successful players at transitioning between the different formats and his advice and support in this area will be of great benefit to the players who have played a large amount of Test and ODI cricket in the last 12 months.

"He also has significant experience playing in India through the Indian Premier League and will assist in adapting to the unique conditions we will experience."

Hussey excited to assist national team

Hussey said he was excited about the opportunity to work with the Australian side.

"As a proud Australian cricketer I am delighted to be involved in Australia's campaign for the World Twenty20 title. I'm really looking forward to working with the boys and assisting in any way possible with their preparation and match day plans."

Howard said Sridharan's focus would be on preparation for the World Twenty20 during the series against South Africa.

"We will play three T20 Internationals against South Africa prior to arriving in India and Sriram's focus will be on getting the players as prepared as possible for what they will face in India.

"Sriram was a consultant coach with the Australia A side when they travelled to India earlier this year and was due to go to Bangladesh as a consultant prior to the tour being postponed. He has also been working with our National Performance Squad for the past few years," said Howard.

Sriram is the assistant coach for the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League and played eight ODIs for India between 2000 and 2004.

India Cricket Team 2016
While a proposed series with Pakistan now looks almost certain not to happen for the foreseeable future, preparations for India’s tour of Australia are stepping up. In the past few days India’s cricket board announced the squads that will compete in both One-Day international and Twenty20 series Down Under next month. And they have also confirmed that limited-overs captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will remain in place, at least through until next year’s World T20.

There were genuine trusts that India would as of now be tackling Pakistan in simply the savage adversaries' second two-sided arrangement since 2007 and the Mumbai fear assaults the next year. Be that as it may, while both nations' cricket powers consented to a proposed abbreviated arrangement in Sri Lanka, India's administration is accepted to have kept it from proceeding.

Thus, consideration now swings to Australia and what are some immensely imperative challenges for India, and particularly Dhoni. The weight has been on the 34-year-old since the time that India's ODI side caught up the giving up of their World Cup title to Australia with a first-ever arrangement thrashing to Bangladesh in June. With India then losing both T20 and ODI arrangement to South Africa on home soil in October, questions have kept on being gotten some information about whether Dhoni is still the right man to lead the group forward. With an end goal to suppress such talk, the Board of Control for Cricket in India's executive of selectors reaffirmed the dedication to Dhoni until the World T20, which will happen in India from March to April, 2016.

"We named Dhoni as the chief as we needed to end the theories in the media," Sandeep Patil said, by Times of India. "Media as well as players when all is said in done ought to know who will be their pioneer."

It was amid India's last voyage through Australia, a year prior, that Dhoni surrendered the Test captaincy, wanting to appreciate the rest of his vocation in the restricted overs position. So far that hasn't exactly gone to arrange. With an end goal to revive the group's fortunes, an invigorated squad has been uncovered to make a beeline for Australia. The feature choice was the oversight of batsman Suresh Raina from the ODI squad, in spite of the fact that he is in the T20 squad. Additionally in the T20 gathering is all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who has come back to the universal fold surprisingly since the 2014 World T20 last, and pace bowler Ashis Nehra, whose last excursion for India came in 2011.
“Yuvraj Singh will always remain special,” Sandeep Patil said, reports ESPN. “The selectors are very happy, and the captain is also very happy to have him back. We cannot promise any player whether he will be part of the next tour or the World Cup. We want every player to perform and every player has a chance to come back in the team.”

Brendon McCullum
Black Caps captain Brendon McCullum has announced his retirement from international cricket with Kane Williamson to lead the side at the ICC World T20 in March.

The 34-year-old, who will play a world-record 100th successive test from his debut for New Zealand against Australia at the Basin Reserve on February 12, confirmed at a press conference in Christchurch on Tuesday that he will pull stumps on his Black Caps career following the second test against Australia at Hagley Oval from February 20.

McCullum had wanted to wait until after his final game to make the announcement, but the impending naming of the New Zealand squad for the World T20 in India, in which he will not be included, has forced his hand.

"Ideally, I would have preferred to wait until after the ANZ test in Christchurch to make this news public," McCullum said. "However, the schedule for naming the ICC World T20 squads means I could not have managed this without causing a lot of confusion and speculation – something I was keen to avoid.

"I've loved my opportunity to play for, and captain the Black Caps, but all good things have to come to an end, and I'm just grateful for the wonderful experience of playing for my country." As well as leading the Twenty20 side, Williamson is favoured to take over the test captaincy as well.

"Given the questions likely to be raised when the ICC World T20 squad is announced, it was thought better to be upfront and explain the situation now," White said. "We'll celebrate Brendon's wonderful contribution to New Zealand and world cricket at the end of the season. For now, we want to help him prepare for the upcoming seven weeks with the minimum of distractions." McCullum, who made his test debut against South Africa in Hamilton in 2004, initially forged a career as an explosive lower-order wicketkeeper batsman.

From his 99 tests to-date, McCullum has amassed 6273 runs from 172 innings to be No 2 on the New Zealand test run-scorers of all time, behind former captain Stephen Fleming (7172 runs).  He has scored 11 test centuries to be fifth equal with Nathan Astle for the number of centuries scored by a New Zealander.

McCullum's career-defining knock came in the summer of 2013-14 when he was the first New Zealander to score a triple century. The skipper scored 302 against India at the Basin Reserve in Wellington to make international headlines. McCullum came into the role of captain under controversial circumstances, with Ross Taylor being dropped as captain on the tour of South Africa by coach Mike Hesson.

He has proven a successful skipper and led the Black Caps to their first ever Cricket World Cup final this year where they lost to Australia by seven wickets. Following that campaign, McCullum and coach Hesson were made Members of the Order of New Zealand for services to cricket.
