TVs would only be switched on for sports channels, sofas would never be
empty, and eyes will be waiting for that winning moment during the last
overs. Yes! T20 World Cup is back, and this time it’s in India.
Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai – T20 World Cup 2016
is one of the venues of the tournament matches. The 33,108-capacity
stadium is particularly known for India’s innings in the 2011 World Cup
final against Sri Lankan team,
when they had won the title, after Indian skipper Dhoni lofted the ball
beyond the boundary for the match-winning six. It was also the ground
where Master Blaster Sachin had played the last match of his
international career.

The crowd of Wankhede can be seen with Dhol Tashas while they cheer for Indian cricket team, and particularly for Sachin. The stadium has a stand named after him – Sachin Tendulkar

match. Wankhede Stadium is also the home ground of the Mumbai Indians.

110 all-out by India in 1998. Sachin has the record of most ODI runs
here, 455 runs. AB de Villers and Malinga are the most cheered
international batsman and bowler here.
It will be interesting to watch the match when the Indians will clash
against their IPL teammates who are an expert on Wankhede’s pitch. Dhol
Tashas and chants would have their volume reach all the seven skies when
the atmosphere will be set on the tunes of the World Cup.
